Everything you create in the app — recipes, ingredients, meal plans, grocery lists, and your settings — is saved in a database file on your own device. It is never uploaded to us, because there is nowhere to upload it to. We operate no server that receives your content.
If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it. We cannot recover it for you, and we cannot see it at any point.
The app can read a recipe from a photo or screenshot. When you choose a photo or take one, the text recognition runs entirely on your device, using the operating system's built-in text recognition (Google ML Kit on Android, Apple's Vision framework on iOS). The image is not uploaded anywhere and is not retained by the app after the recipe is read.
The app requests access to your camera and photo library only at the moment you use those features, and only reads the specific image you select.
When you paste a recipe link, the app loads that web page in order to read the recipe from it. This is an ordinary web request: the website you are importing from will see your device's IP address and standard browser information, exactly as it would if you visited it in your browser. We do not receive or record anything about which pages you import.
The app checks for over-the-air updates through Expo's update service
(expo.dev), operated by Expo (650 Industries, Inc.). This check
transmits basic technical information such as your app version and platform so
the correct update can be delivered. It does not include your recipes or any
personal data. Expo's privacy policy is available at
expo.dev/privacy.
Meal planning and grocery lists are part of a paid version of the app. If you buy it, the transaction is handled by Apple (or Google Play on Android) and by RevenueCat, which we use to check whether a purchase is active.
We never see or handle your payment details. Your card number goes to the app store, never to us and never to RevenueCat.
What is processed when you purchase: an anonymous identifier generated by RevenueCat for your installation, the store's own receipt or transaction identifier, which product you bought, and the status of that purchase (active, expired, in trial, refunded). This is used for one purpose only - deciding whether to unlock the paid features. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not combined with your recipes, which never leave your device.
This identifier is not linked to your name or email unless you contact us for support and tell us who you are. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy, and Apple's is at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Subscriptions are managed entirely by the app store. To cancel, use your device's account settings - we cannot cancel or refund on your behalf, and we have no access to your store account.
There are none. The app contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting service, and no tracking of any kind. We do not build a profile of you and there is nothing to opt out of.
The app is a household tool suitable for general audiences. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The app has no accounts, no profiles, no messaging, and no advertising.
Regulations such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data a company holds about you. Your recipes and plans are entirely under your own control on your device: you can edit or delete any of them in the app, and uninstalling removes everything.
The only records associated with you are purchase records held by RevenueCat and the app store. To ask about or delete those, contact us at the address below with the approximate date and store of your purchase, and we will action it with our provider. Note that the app store keeps its own transaction records independently of us, for its own tax and accounting obligations.
If a future version of the app collects anything, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described here.
